In-car Eyes-free Assistance Is Moving Forward

Dec 9, 2013 0 3

On December 3th, Honda rolled out the 2014 Civic that boasts their first ever onboard Siri Eyes-Free integration. In essense, happy owners of iPhone 5 (and higher) can now operate Siri via voice commands by pressing and holding the TALK button on the steering wheel, with their iPhone Bluetooth-paired and their eyes on the road. We at Robin Labs feel a great relief when we think of the iPhone-wired 2014 Civic owners. Those fortunate few can drive really safely. What bothers us are the millions of other drivers who are forced to scratch the displays of their smartphones while navigating, or even - Oh No! - to text at the wheel. Guess what was the most popular comment on this technology during the Honda’s Google Hangout demonstration? “Android App Please!” Well, we have one, and it’s been picked up by hundreds of thousands of drivers, in all kinds of cars. And of course our own Robin Labs crew is no exception. For instance, CEO Ilya Eckstein enjoys Robin in his BMW during his commute from Palo Alto to San Francisco, and CTO Vlad Getselevich often talks to Robin in his Mazda 3. It’s natural, helpful and safe, because Robin is totally hands-free, gluten-free and just free - as in free beer :) On Google Play. Always in stock.
